Rear Seat Entertainment in a Snap

Pioneer Offers Detachable Screen for In-Car Video

LONG BEACH, Calif., April 23 -- Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc., the established leader in mobile entertainment products, today released a new detachable screen for rear-seat entertainment, the AVD-W6200. The 6.5-inch high-resolution display comes with an easy-to-install bracket that makes it possible to add rear seat video to most double-poled headrests with minimal modification to the vehicle. Once installed, consumers can detach the monitor and fold the bracket out of the way and out of sight if they don't want to leave it in the vehicle when not in use.

In addition to its convenience features, the AVD-W6200 offers excellent picture quality with its active matrix 16:9 LCD screen for optimal wide-screen viewing. The monitor produces crystal clear pictures and features five selectable viewing modes. It also has an anti-glare coated screen, which is critical in a vehicle where there is a great deal of ambient light. It also has an automatic dimmer, built-in speaker, dual A/V inputs and a composite output. The AVD-W6200 can be used with any video source unit including Pioneer's DVH and AVH DVD systems.

"The AVD-W6200 is a great addition to our family of rear-seat video screens, making it easy to add rear-seat entertainment," said Michael Townsen, vice president of marketing for mobile entertainment at Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. "It's ideal for consumers who lease their vehicle and want to be able to remove the screen at the end of the lease."

The Pioneer AVD-W6200 installs in a matter of minutes with a quick mount bracket made of durable black plastic that can withstand the harsh environment in a vehicle including hot and cold temperatures. The bracket features adjustable mounting holes to fit most double-poled headrests, a retractable arm and a pivoting quick release mount for better viewing angles and added security. Pioneer also offers rear seat video screens that mount directly to the back of the headrest or that fold down from an overhead position.

The AVD-W6200 has a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $600.
