Delphi Becomes First Manufacturer in the Brazilian Auto Industry To Earn IQA Certification

SAO PAULO, Brazil, April 23 -- Delphi Products & Service Solutions, part of Delphi Corporation has earned IQA (Automotive Quality Institute) Certification, a Brazilian certification for automotive services geared to the distribution chain. The auditing was performed at the end of March in all the operating departments directly involved in serving Delphi clients and thirty items were reviewed and zero non-conformity was found. Delphi's performance was considered excellent in environmental concern, social responsibility, warehouse organization, team commitment, service, information technology, and project implementation.

"It's very impressive to be the first in the industry to achieve IQA Certification," said Francisco A. (Frank) Ordonez, President, Delphi Product & Service Solutions and Vice President, Delphi Corporation. Employees presented Ordonez with the certificate during a visit to Brazil this month.

With IQA Certification, Delphi plans to encourage and help its distribution partners obtain the certification as well -- an initiative taken in the last Annual Distributors' Convention in March. During the event, Delphi launched the "Quality and Performance Award" to encourage suppliers to invest in environment protection, social responsibility, quality standards, teamwork and other initiatives.

The Automotive Quality Institute is a non-profit institution founded in 1996 for the purpose of securing quality certification for auto parts distributing companies. Delphi is the first manufacturer to be granted the Quality Certificate and first within the auto parts industry.
