Land Rover 64 Challenge Kicks Off Final Stage of Competition in Las Vegas
WHO: Land Rover G4 Challenge
WHAT: The G4 Challenge is a global adventure that tests the
skills of men and women from 16 countries in various
adventure sports and off-road driving tasks. Having been
around the world since the start of the Challenge, the
competitors are heading back to the West Coast to kick off
the final stage of the competition in Las Vegas before
finishing up in the adventure capital of Moab, Utah on
Saturday, April 26th. A nearly 40 vehicle convoy will be
departing the Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas on Tuesday
morning.
WHERE: Hyatt Regency Lake Las Vegas
101 Montelago Blvd.
Henderson, NV 89011
WHEN: Tuesday, April 22, 2003
9:00 a.m.
Competition: 16 competitors function in eight two-person teams and
choose how to reach a series of location markers. Kayaks,
mountain bikes, climbing equipment, GPS tools and map
coordinates will be provided to assist the competitors in
reaching said markers. The team with the most points at
the end of each stage wins that segment. An individual
overall winner will be crowned at the end of the Challenge
and will drive away a new Range Rover. The Challenge so
far has traveled from the urban jungle of Manhattan, to the
lush South African coastline and deep into the Pilbara
region of Australia.
Vehicles: The Land Rover G4 Challenge will exclusively feature
Land Rover vehicles. The competitors will drive a
different Land Rover on each stage of the Challenge.
Interview opportunities are available at a 7:30 p.m. dinner tonight while outstanding photo and digital opportunities are available at the kick off at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow morning, both of which are at the Hyatt.
