Hales Point Opener this Saturday

Franklin, Wis., Apr. 21â”The Miller High Life ProStar racing series is set to
begin the Hales Corners Speedway's (Franklin, Wis.) 55th season this coming
Saturday, April 26.
A full schedule of UMP late models, sportsmen, modifieds, Hales Whales and
Mud Puppy point action will commence with qualifying at 6;00 PM and racing to
follow. Defending UMP late model champion Bret "The Jet" Sievert expects
stiff competition from perennial star Russ Scheffler and a host of other top
unlimited UMP competitors.
Last year's champ Don Sorce will lead the ever competitive sportsmen to the
line, with Jim Zdroik coming back in the modifieds. The Hales Whales
division is up for grabs in 2003 with champ Joe "The Sniffer" Altenhoven
moving up to the sportsmen. Hales Corners newest group, the Mud Puppies
return this season with first year champ Aaron Stoltz leading the way.
Coming to Hales on Friday, May 2 is the season point opener for the Badger
Midget Auto Racing Association (BMARA). This will be the first time in BMARA
history that Hales Corners will be hosting their point opener.
