SHANE LEWIS JOINS ACEMCO FERRARI FOR ENTIRE ALMS SEASON

JUPITER, Fla., April 19, 2003 - Shane Lewis, recently announced to drive the
ACEMCO Motorsports Ferrari 360 GT Modena at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans,
has been hired by ACEMCO owner Jeff Giangrande to join Cass Whitehead behind
the wheel for the remainder of the 2003 American Le Mans Series (ALMS)
season. Lewis, of Jupiter, Florida, competed in his first race with the
GT-class team driving the #63 ACEMCO Automotive Ferrari at the 51st Annual
12 Hours of Sebring. Lewis impressed the team with his lap times and his
racecraft during changing race conditions, despite never having driven a
Ferrari in ALMS competition. Due to his extensive experience in sports car
racing and his widely recognized ability to develop race cars, the 16-time
24 hour race starter was tabbed to help the team at Le Mans, where Lewis is
a two-time starter. His relationship with the team quickly grew and he was
asked to join the effort, effective immediately, for the remaining eight
races on the schedule. Lewis will turn his first laps as a fulltime ACEMCO
driver at the Le Mans Test Day on May 4th.

“When Jeff asked me to race at Le Mans I was, obviously, thrilled,”
commented Lewis. “As we began to prepare for that, the chemistry with the
team clicked, like it had at Sebring. That chemistry is so important for the
success of a team. All the other pieces you could purchase but you can’t buy
chemistry. Jeff has put together the pieces for a winning operation and is
very committed to be on the top-step of the podium. I’m looking forward to
carrying-on the momentum we built at Sebring in the ACEMCO Automotive
Ferrari. I am particularly looking forward to co-driving with Cass. We
should have a great year with this silver and red Ferrari.”

“At Sebring we found Shane to be a true professional and a team player,”
offered Giangrande about bringing Lewis onboard. “You can count on him to be
easy on equipment, get great fuel mileage and turn lap after lap at a
qualifying pace when needed.”

Lewis will co-drive at Le Mans with Butch Leitzinger and Johnny Mowlem June
14-15. Both co-drivers are regulars on the ALMS circuit and have extensive
experience at Le Mans.

Shane Lewis is the 1998 Professional Sports Car Racing Rising Star award
winner and is a multiple race winner in IMSA, SCCA Pro and Grand-Am
sanctioned events. He has raced in six 24 Hours of Daytona, seven 12 Hours
of Sebring and four Petit Le Mans. Lewis, a regular top-five finisher in
ALMS competition, has earned ALMS podium finishes at Silverstone, the
Nurburgring and Portland and is one of the few drivers with experience in
the four major classes of international sports car racing (LMP 900, LMP 675,
GTS and GT).
