NOTES OF INTEREST:  This year's version of the Kentuckiana Ford Dealers 200 will mark the 70th appearance of the ultra popular ARCA RE/MAX Series at Salem Speedway. Salem has been a staple on the RE/MAX Series schedule since 1955 when Jack Harrison won the inaugural event in a Ford. Current point leader Frank Kimmel is the all-time Salem winner with 7 victories including the last 5 consecutive. Jack Bowsher is next with 5 overall followed by Tim Steele, Les Snow & Ramo Stott who have 4 wins each. In addition, Kimmel, who has also started from the pole in the last 5 Salem events, has led 550 laps of the 996 total laps in the last 5 races there. Eau Claire Wisconsin driver Paul Menard will make his ARCA RE/MAX Series debut at Salem in a #33 Andy Petree Racing Chevrolet with sponsorship from Turtle Wax. The new team of Petree and Menard announced a mixed schedule in '03 to include other RE/MAX Series events as well as some NASCAR Winston Cup, Busch & Truck Series races. Also making his RE/MAX Series debut at Salem is former ARCA Lincoln Welders Truck Series winner David Clay. RE/MAX Series veteran Joe Cooksey will make his return to ARCA competition at Salem. The battle for Rookie of the Year is heating up with former sprint car driver Christi Passmore trailing leader Bill Eversole by just 2 points. Notable RE/MAX Series past winners at Salem include Winston Cup champion Bobby Allison, six-time RE/MAX Series champion Iggy Katona & former ARCA national champions Bill Baird, Tracy Leslie, Nelson Stacy, Ron Hutcherson, Ramo Stott, Dave Dayton, Moose Myers, Marvin Smith, Bob Keselowski & Bob Brevak.
