Hales to Start With IRA
Franklin, Wis., Apr. 14---The Hales Corners Speedway will host the first
point night of the Interstate Racing Associations point season this coming
Saturday, April 19. It is also the first official event of the 2003 season,
the 55th in the facilities history.
All of the cars and stars of the IRA will be on hand, as well as other
Midwest 410 sprint car participants expected. Qualifying will get underway
at 6:00 p.m. with racing to follow.
Joe Roe, John Haeni, Kim Mock, Todd Hefner and the "Flatlander Foot", Darrell
Dodd, will all be there competing for the early head in the Midwest's premier
sprint car series.
On April 26 the ProStar series opens their season at Hales Corners with a
full program of UMP late model, sportsmen, modified, Hales Whales and Mud
Puppies. The UMP late model series will head to the line led by defending
champion Bret Sievert, Russ Scheffler, Jim Watson, Chris Carlson and last
years hottest newcomer Scott Specht. 2002 Sportsmen champ Don Sorce will
lead the divisions headliners as will Jim Zdroik in the Modifieds. Champion
Joe "The Sniffer" Altenhoven will lead the whale pod, and defending champ
Aaron Stolz the Mud puppies.
On May 2, the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association (BMARA) will also open
their 2003 point season at Hales.
