Inergy Automotive Systems Honored by General Motors As a 2002 Supplier of the Year

PARIS, April 17 -- Inergy Automotive Systems was named as a General Motors Supplier of the Year for its overall business performance in providing GM with parts and services. The award was presented during ceremonies Saturday, April 12, at the Miracle Theatre in Miami.

"Inergy is representative of the companies GM expects to grow with us as we seek to increase market share," said Bo Andersson, vice president, GM Worldwide Purchasing Production Control & Logistics. "The company's performance and contributions have been critical in helping GM to become the industry's low cost producer of high quality vehicles. They serve as a role model for other suppliers."

"This award is a compliment to the Inergy team," said Pierre Lecocq, Inergy's CEO. "Like GM, Inergy strives to be a leader in the automotive industry. We believe that we are paving the way for the next generation of plastic fuel systems and look forward to working with GM for many years."

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 70 suppliers for their excellence throughout 2002.

Inergy Automotive Systems is a global Tier One supplier of complete fuel systems and energy storage system technologies. The company was founded in 2000 through a joint venture of the French company Plastic Omnium and Solvay SA, the Belgian chemical company. Each company holds 50 percent of Inergy Automotive Systems. Inergy, headquartered in Paris, employs more than 4,000 people and has 27 facilities in 17 countries around the world.
