Drew Industries' Kinro Subsidiary to Debut Revolutionary New One-Piece Tub/Shower Unit at Chicago National Plastics Exposition

Kinro Creates New Division to Introduce Innovative New Technology

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 15 -- Drew Industries Incorporated (AMEX:DW) announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Kinro, Inc. will debut a revolutionary new one-piece tub/shower unit featuring two new innovations, the VEC(TM) technology and the VEC Shield(TM) finish, at the National Plastics Exposition (NPE) in Chicago June 23-27, 2003. The VEC Shield(TM) finish represents a significant improvement over traditional gel coated fiberglass.

Drew, a leading manufacturer of recreational vehicle (RV) and manufactured housing (MH) components, also announced the formation of "Kinro(R) Composites(TM)", a new division of Kinro. Kinro Composites was created specifically to expand the VEC(TM) technology and the VEC Shield(TM) finish innovations, first to bath products for the manufactured housing industry through Kinro's Better Bath Components division, then to other markets including the marine industry.

"Kinro has always lead the way in product design and innovation and the VEC(TM) technology is another great example," said David L. Webster, Kinro president and CEO. "The addition of this new tub/shower unit is the first of what we expect to be numerous products that Kinro, Better Bath, and the new Kinro Composites group can bring to market, allowing us to increase our market share in our existing manufactured housing and RV businesses, but also expanding into new industries."

The new one-piece tub/shower unit featuring VEC(TM) technology and the VEC Shield(TM) finish will be unveiled for the first time at the G.E. Plastics (Booth #2015) and Spartech (Booth #7505) displays at the NPE. Bringing VEC(TM) technology and the VEC Shield(TM) finish to bath products for the manufactured housing industry is the culmination of a three-year research and development effort by Kinro Composites, Better Bath Components, boat maker Genmar, plastics processor Spartech and G.E. Plastics.

These new one-piece tub/shower units, built using VEC(TM) technology and incorporating the VEC Shield(TM) finish, are the first tub/showers ever built through a closed-mold process that results in a nearly 100% reduction in the VOC emissions created during production of traditional gel coated fiberglass bath products.

About VEC(TM) Technology and Genmar

VEC(TM) Technology is a subsidiary of Genmar, the world's largest builder of recreational boats and the industry's technological leader. The VEC(TM) technology process is a computer-controlled, automated, closed-mold system that produces parts that are superior to the current traditional gel coated fiberglass parts used in many industries.

Genmar will feature a new Four Winns boat at the G.E. Plastics and Spartech displays at the NPE, which was built through VEC(TM) technology and featuring the VEC Shield(TM) finish. The VEC Shield(TM) is a major step forward in the manufacturing of fiberglass boats and is also a result of the R&D efforts of Genmar, G.E. Plastics, Spartech and Kinro Composites. Kinro Composites expects to be involved in the manufacturing of components for the new Four Winns boat.

Kinro Composites, Genmar, Spartech and G.E. Plastics will hold a joint press conference at the NPE in Chicago for the unveiling of the new one-piece tub/shower unit and the new Four Winns boat.
