Volkswagen Cars - Made On Ukraine

MOSCOW April 15, 2003 Dow Jones reports that German car maker Volkswagen AG plans to assemble Volkswagen cars at Ukraine's ZAO Eurocar plant from July, Eurocar said Tuesday. Eurocar will start assembling Passat models and later will produce Boras, Golfs and Polos.

Eurocar already assembles Skoda cars by Skoda Automobilova , also part of Volkswagen Holding and is in talks with Audi AG , also part of Volkswagen, to produce its models in Ukraine.

Eurocar spokeswoman said it was too early to say whether the Volkswagen models produced in Ukraine could be exported to neighboring countries.
