Fairchild Semiconductor Names Dan Janson Senior Director of Investor Relations

SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine--April 14, 2003--Fairchild Semiconductor , one of the largest global suppliers of high performance products that optimize system power for multiple end markets, today announced the appointment of Dan Janson as senior director of Investor Relations.
Janson will immediately assume responsibility for the investor relations role, directing interactions with financial analysts, shareholders and other financial constituencies. The role of senior director of Investor Relations was previously held by Pete Groth, who has been promoted to vice president and treasurer. Janson will report directly to Groth.
Janson has more than 25 years experience in the electronics industry. He has served in a variety of key roles including manufacturing management, sales/program management, controller for operations, director of planning and director of materials. In his most recent role as director of business systems, Janson was responsible for the implementation of Fairchild's world class, corporate-wide advanced planning system.
Janson holds an associate's degree in Applied Electronics, a bachelor's degree in Business Management and a master's degree in Business Administration. Additionally, he has achieved professional designations including Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM), and Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM).
