Delphi Packard Europe Receives General Motors' 2002 Supplier of the Year Award
WUPPERTAL, Germany, April 14 -- The European Operations of Delphi Packard Electric Systems, a division of Delphi Corp. , received a General Motors Supplier of the Year Award for its overall business performance in providing GM with Electrical/Electronic Distribution Systems (E/EDS). The award was given during ceremonies Saturday, April 12, in Miami at the Miracle Theatre.

"The company's performance and contributions have been critical in helping GM to become the industry's low cost producer of high-quality vehicles. They serve as a role model for other suppliers."

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 70 suppliers for their excellence throughout 2002.
The locations in Europe and Africa that helped earn the recognition this year include the Russelsheim, Germany Customer Service Center, as well as manufacturing sites Grosspetersdorf, Austria; Berlin, Germany; Szombathely, Hungary; Tangiers, Morocco; Sinnicolau Mare, Romania; Belchite, Spain; Bursa, Turkey; Istanbul, Turkey; and Izmir, Turkey. Since Delphi's independence in 1999, the company has received 11 GM Supplier of the Year Awards, and Delphi Packard Electric has received one every year.
In Europe, Delphi provides to GM more than 300 different part numbers for more than 50 different Delphi product families including Electrical/Electronics Systems, HVAC, sensors, electronics, steering, suspensions and numerous other systems and components.
More than 40 of Delphi's European manufacturing sites support General Motors' global vehicle manufacturing network by supplying products to GM's European, North American, South American and Asia Pacific locations.
