ZAP Signs Distribution Agreement for Spain

SEBASTOPOL, Calif., April 14 -- Electric transportation developer ZAP (BULLETIN BOARD: ZAPZ) announced today that it has signed an agreement with CEDISA MOTOR SL of Madrid to distribute ZAP electric vehicles throughout Spain.

CEDISA has signed an agreement for exclusive distribution of ZAP's full-line of electric vehicles, including its electric cars, scooters, bicycles, motorbikes, water scooters and other forms of alternative and advanced transportation. As part of the agreement, CEDISA has placed a $250,000 purchase order for ZAP vehicles.

CEDISA owner Cesar Diaz says his four-year-old automotive company is planning to market ZAPs through rentals and sales to tourists. CEDISA, which has been offering ZAP bikes and scooters for the past seven months, is also a distributor of "micro-cars," the inexpensive, sub-compact automobiles that are gaining popularity throughout Europe. Diaz says he plans to open an additional outlet in Valencia and would like to establish distribution outlets for ZAP vehicles throughout Europe.

"People in Spain like ZAP products because they are fun and good for the environment," said Diaz. "We believe the market in Spain will be excellent because of the tourism. Not only is Spain the second most visited country in the world, it enjoys the most sun per year of any country in the Europe. We hope to introduce ZAP to all the Europeans that visit Spain." Diaz added that children in Spain love the ZAPPY folding electric scooter. He helped organize a race for seven local boys, handing out trophies to the top finishers and says they want to organize more races.
