Collins & Aikman Named '2002 Corporation of the Year' by General Motors

TROY, Mich., April 14 -- Collins & Aikman Corporation announced that it was named Corporation of the Year at GM's annual Supplier of the Year ceremonies Saturday, April 12, in Miami, Florida. In addition to being named the 2002 Corporation of the Year, Collins & Aikman has been recognized as a GM Supplier of the Year for its overall business performance in providing GM with quality parts and services. The awards were granted to Collins & Aikman for superior performance in quality, service, technology and cost across all of the product lines that the Company supplies to General Motors.

The GM Supplier of the Year award began as a global program in 1992. Award-winners are selected by a global team of executives from purchasing, engineering, manufacturing and logistics who base their decisions on supplier performance in quality, service, technology and price. This year, General Motors honored 70 suppliers for their excellence throughout 2002.
