International Speedway Corporation Management Changes Effective

- Shareholders Approve Board Of Directors Restructuring -

- Declares Annual Dividend Of $0.06 Per Share -

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., April 11 -- International Speedway Corporation (today announced that previously disclosed management changes became effective at its regularly scheduled Board of Directors meeting held April 9, 2003.

  As previously announced:
   * William ("Bill") C. France, 70, will continue in his role as Chairman
      of the Board of Directors for the Company;
   * James ("Jim") C. France, 58, is now Chief Executive Officer;
   * Lesa D. France Kennedy, 41, has become President; and
   * John R. Saunders, 46, is now Senior Vice President and Chief Operating
      Officer.

"These changes highlight the depth of experience of our strong management team," commented Lesa D. France Kennedy, President of International Speedway Corporation. "Jim, John and I are thrilled to be given the opportunity to further the company's success by building upon the outstanding foundation that Bill France has cultivated. Under Bill's leadership, ISC has become a leader in motorsports entertainment. In response to recent corporate governance legislation and regulations as well as efforts to diversify its Board, ISC also announced the Company's Board of Directors has undergone several changes. Effective with ISC's Annual Meeting of Shareholders held April 9, the Board has been reduced from 17 to 13 members, resulting in a majority of outside directors and the addition of a new director with a strong financial background.

  As approved in the April 9 meeting:
   * William C. France, James C. France, Brian Z. France, Gregory W. Penske,
      Chapman J. Root, II, Christy F. Harris, Raymond K. Mason, Jr. and
      Lloyd E. Reuss will remain in office until the scheduled expiration of
      their terms of office;
   * Lesa D. Kennedy, J. Hyatt Brown, Edward H. Rensi and Thomas W. Staed
      were re-elected to the ISC Board of Directors; and
   * Larry Aiello, Jr., 53, President and CEO of Corning
      Cable Systems, was elected to the ISC Board of Directors.

In addition, John Cooper, a director since 1987 and Vice President - Corporate Development from 1987-1994, has been named Advisory Director to the Board, providing input into Company policy and strategic growth initiatives.

"While we have always had a strong voice from all of the members of our Board, this new structure will increase the proportion of outside directors and enhance their role. We look forward to the Board continuing to help grow our Company in the best interests of our shareholders, employees and the entire motorsports community," commented William C. France.

Separately, ISC announced the declaration of an annual dividend of $0.06 per share, payable on June 30, 2003 to common stockholders of record on May 31, 2003, marking the 30th consecutive year that the Company has paid a dividend to its shareholders.
