Nissan Opens 268,000 Square Foot Operations Center in Irving, Texas

IRVING, Texas--April 9, 2003--Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC), the financing arm of Nissan North America, Inc., has relocated to its new 268,000 square foot customer service center in Irving, Texas, just west of Dallas.
The build-to-suit facility is located on a 14.8-acre site adjacent to Nissan's South Central Regional office, service-training facility, and parts distribution center. The new building creates a campus environment with shared facilities including a fitness center, cafeteria and childcare center. The new three-story facility, located at the southeast corner of Freeport Parkway and Regent Boulevard, supports an initial workforce of approximately 800, with additional space for future growth.
"This new facility will allow NMAC/IFS to more efficiently support and serve our three main customers: NNA, our dealers, and our retail and lease customers," said NMAC President Steve Lambert. "It is a strong statement about Nissan's long term commitment to auto financing as an integral piece of the total automotive experience. We are excited about the new building and look forward to many years of profitable growth."
The new facility enhances Nissan's ability to provide Nissan and Infiniti dealers in the United States with inventory and mortgage financing and related services, and to purchase and service vehicle lease and loan contracts for consumers.
The new NMAC facility is part of a significant Nissan expansion program in North America. On May 27, a new $1.43 billion vehicle assembly plant will be dedicated in Canton, Miss. Expansion programs also are under way at Nissan's first U.S. assembly plant in Smyrna, Tenn.; its powertrain and transaxle plant in Decherd, Tenn.; the Nissan Technical Center North America in Farmington Hills, Mich., and at Nissan Design America, in San Diego, Calif.
These projects will contribute to attaining the goals of NISSAN 180, a three-year program aimed at establishing sustainable, profitable growth for Nissan worldwide. In addition, the Texas project has been a shot in the arm for the Dallas economy and employed up to 230 construction workers.
The building exterior and interior was designed to enhance employee interaction and retention. Especially noteworthy is the innovative design for the employee dining area. Interior and exterior vehicle display areas were created to feature new Nissan and Infiniti vehicles such as the Nissan 350Z and Infiniti M45.
In North America, Nissan's operations include automotive styling, engineering, consumer and corporate financing, sales and marketing, distribution and manufacturing.
