Honda Selects Alpine As Its Car Audio Partner for Nationwide Civic Tour With Good Charlotte and New Found Glory
Alpine Outfits 12 New Honda Civic Si's for National Sweepstakes, Presents Traveling Non-Stop Music Lounge in Tour Markets and Launches Exclusive In-Store Sweepstakes Through Participating Dealers
TORRANCE, Calif., April 9 -- Alpine Electronics of America, Inc., the industry-leading manufacturer of high performance mobile electronics, today announced that it has been selected as the car audio partner for Honda's 2003 Civic Tour, a 50-city music tour with neo-punk bands Good Charlotte and New Found Glory. Alpine is outfitting 12 Honda Civic Si's to be given away in a national sweepstakes and various regional events across the U.S. with the latest high-end mobile audio and video products, and will sponsor the Civic Tour Non-Stop Music Lounge, an outdoor interactive music event at most tour stops.
Additionally, Alpine is launching a national in-store promotion with its U.S. specialist retailers that will give their customers an exclusive opportunity to win a trip to Los Angeles to see the show and meet the bands, as well as additional chances to win Alpine equipment autographed by the bands.
"Alpine is a highly demanded brand by the youth market, so being a part of the Civic Tour is a great fit for us," says Steve Witt, Alpine's Vice President of Brand Marketing. "The Civic Tour Non-Stop Music Lounge presented by Alpine is a fresh way to connect our brand to the youth market and create an engaging experience centered on music, cars and mobile electronics. Moreover, our exclusive dealer promotion gives our customers a great opportunity to become a part of this exciting music event."
Alpine is equipping 12 new Honda Civic Si's with incredible 1,300 watt car audio and video systems featuring the latest in-demand technologies -- in-vehicle satellite-linked navigation, XM Satellite Radio and in-car DVD entertainment. Alpine's high-performance Type-R speakers, subwoofers and V12 amps will complete the systems, ensuring clear sound with pounding bass and non-stop power. Each band has customized a Civic Si as an expression of their respective personalities. Two of the cars will be given away through an online sweepstakes at www.civictour.com . The other ten Alpine-equipped Si's, as well as new Alpine CDA-9815 CD receivers, will be given away through media promotions in key markets.
The Civic Tour Non-Stop Music Lounge presented by Alpine will be an outdoor gathering spot at most venues before and after the concerts, where tour goers can listen to a live DJ, play the video games, see displays of the Alpine products installed in each of the band-designed Honda Civic Si's and get a close-up look at the autographed cars themselves.
Alpine also is sponsoring an exclusive in-store sweepstakes through participating authorized Alpine dealers. The Civic Tour Alpine Sweepstakes, which runs April 14, 2003 - May 9, 2003, will allow Alpine's specialist dealers to offer their customers a chance to win a Grand Prize trip for two to the Civic Tour concert in Los Angeles in June, along with passes to meet the bands. Additionally, Alpine will give away through random drawing seven First Prize awards of Alpine MRV-F340 amplifiers autographed by New Found Glory or Good Charlotte and 19 Second Prize awards of Alpine SWS-1241 Type-S subwoofers, also signed by the one of the bands. All in-store entrants will also be automatically entered to win one of the customized Civic Si's in the Civic Tour National Sweepstakes.
