Drew Industries Announces Changes in Finance Department

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y., April 9 -- Drew Industries Incorporated (AMEX:DW) today announced that Joseph S. Giordano III has been appointed the new corporate controller of Drew. Additionally, the Company announced its current controller, John Cupak, will become director of taxation and internal audit, and said Drew's treasurer, Harvey J. Kaplan, will retire June 30, after 33 years with Drew.

Drew Industries, a leading manufacturer of recreational vehicle (RV) and manufactured housing (MH) components, said Giordano will be responsible for all areas of the Company's accounting and also internal and external reporting, which are currently handled by Kaplan.

Giordano is a certified public accountant (CPA) and comes to Drew from Deloitte & Touche in Stamford, Conn., where he was a senior manager. Previously, Giordano was with KPMG LLP in Stamford for nearly 11 years, most recently serving as senior manager. Giordano has extensive experience in auditing and corporate finance for a broad array of both public and private companies, and in 2000 and 2001 Giordano served as the senior audit manager for KPMG's independent audits of Drew.

"We are excited to have Joe Giordano join Drew's corporate office," said Leigh J. Abrams, president and CEO of Drew Industries. "As a result of his background with Drew, Joe is already familiar with our operations and the industries we serve. He is also very knowledgeable about Drew's accounting systems and the key accounting metrics we use to manage the Company. As a result, he'll be able to hit the ground running and bring a fresh outlook to our accounting systems, controls and reporting."

Also effective immediately, John Cupak, Drew's current controller, will assume the newly created position of director of taxation and internal audit. Drew said this move will enable Cupak to devote more of his effort to internal auditing, which has been the focus of much attention recently as a result of new requirements related to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Drew also announced the retirement of its treasurer, Harvey Kaplan, after 33 years of service. Kaplan will retire on June 30, but will continue to be available for consultation to ensure a smooth transition.

"We'd like to thank Harvey for his many years of hard work at Drew," said Fred Zinn, Drew's executive vice president and chief financial officer. "Harvey has been instrumental in developing the accounting controls and analysis we needed as we grew to become a nationwide manufacturer and supplier that is a leader in two industries. His presence will be missed here, and we are grateful that he will be available to consult with Joe and make the transition as seamless as possible. We are pleased with the finance team we have assembled and are confident we have the depth to continue to effectively implement the new accounting systems we will need to manage our continued growth."
