Revolution Motorsports Long Beach Preview

Revolution Motorsports Ready for The Battle At The Beach
Upbeat crew prepared to go to the front.

Detroit – April 7, 2003 – Team Crew Chief, Shane Duhaime says, “We’re
ready. St. Pete was a tough weekend for us and we came home with a top
5 for the #2 car and 7th for the #10 car. It was a weekend where if it
could go wrong, it did go wrong. We’ve chased down the gremlins… and
we’ve got game. This team is ready.”

For round two in the Trans-Am Series for the BFGoodrich Tires Cup,
Shane Duhaime is leading the charge as Revolution Motorsports heads to
the Long Beach Grand Prix, April 13th. The race will be broadcast on
SPEED at 9pm EST. This is the Series’ 11th visit to Long Beach and the
race is considered one of the premier events of the season.

For Revolution Motorsports driver, Stu Hayner, the Long Beach race is a
homecoming of sorts. Hayner, who lives in nearby Yorba Linda, is a
consistent front-runner in the Series and a crowd favorite here in
Southern California.

“I love this race,” said Hayner. “This year is going to be particularly
exciting for us. We are welcoming the folks from GMAC Commercial
Finance to the team as an associate partner on the #2 Trenton Forging /
Revolution Motorsports Corvette. Long Beach will be the first outing
for them and we can’t wait to show them a great time… and a great
finish.”

Hayner amazingly peddled a seven-cylinder car to a 5th place finish at
the season opener in St. Petersburg in February.

“The crew is telling me to get ready,” Hayner laughed. “They’re pretty
excited about some changes they’ve made and it seems the folks at CRD
have found some more power for us. So, I’m looking for great results in
front of my hometown crowd.”

This will be Bobby Sak’s first Trans-Am appearance at Long Beach.

“This race has got my attention,” said Bobby. “You know, at the
beginning of the year, you see it on the schedule… it’s just another
date on the calendar. But now…. It’s here. It’s Long Beach. This race
is huge. Everybody talks about Long Beach. So, all of a sudden, I’m
pretty excited… I get to run Trans-Am at Long Beach. It’s pretty
awesome.

Already in a battle for Rookie of the Year, Sak will look to capitalize
on his solid 7th place performance in St. Petersburg.

“I’m still sticking with the same strategy,” said Sak. “I’m going to go
out and try to qualify the #10 Revolution Motorsports Corvette as high
on the grid as I can. Sunday, when they drop the green, I’ll look to
get hooked up with the quick guys and have a steady run. I want to find
that balance of running quick, conserving my equipment and minding my
manners. I know that if we can do that and stay on the lead lap we’ll
have a good finish. It’s a long season… a DNF could really spoil our
Rookie of the Year hopes, so we’re going to play smart.”

Revolution Motorsports in association with Trenton Forging competes as
part of the Trans-Am Series for the BF Goodrich Tires Cup. All events
are nationally televised on SPEED. The Trans-Am Series is the oldest
form of American sports car racing.
