Strong Endorsement Helps Warrantech Generate New Business from MARTA Warranty Program; Company Has Signed More than 10 Percent of Buying Cooperative Members
BEDFORD, Texas--April 3, 2003--Following its designation last fall as the "preferred provider" of extended service contracts to the MARTA Cooperative of America, Warrantech Corporation (OTCBB:WTEC), announced today that it has signed agreements with more than 10 percent of the buying cooperative's consumer electronics and appliance retailers.MARTA is the largest member-owned retail buying cooperative in the U.S. consumer electronics and appliance industry, representing more than 100 active owner-members with 450-plus storefronts across the country. Their combined retail sales exceed $2 billion annually.
New retailers that Warrantech has signed under the "endorsed provider" program include: DeSears, Bradenton, Fl.; Karl's, Gregory, S.D.: Nielsen's, Spencer, IA; Benett's, Orrville, OH; Grove Refrigeration, Alliance, OH; and W&B Furniture and Appliance, New Martinsville, W.Va. Also under the new program are: Good Housekeeping, Natrona Heights, PA; Brummel's Furniture & Appliance, Grand Rapids, MI; Edelstein's, Brownsville, TX; Home Appliance Co., Massillon, OH; and L.H. Brubaker, Lancaster, PA. These retailers have combined annual sales of about $200 million.

WCPS Online is a Web-based tool introduced in early 2002. This functionality helps retailers manage customer and business operations data while reducing paperwork and the associated time and expense of administering service contracts for their customers.
