INTERMET Wins Toyota Supplier Recognition
TROY, Mich., April 2 -- INTERMET Corporation , one of the world's leading manufacturers of cast-metal automotive components, announced today that it has received two Certificate of Achievement awards from Toyota Motor Manufacturing North America, Inc., (TMMNA). The quality and delivery performance awards were presented at the 2003 TMMNA Annual Business Meeting and Awards Ceremony in Covington, Ky.
INTERMET's Decatur Foundry in Decatur, Illinois, earned the awards for meeting Toyota quality and delivery standards during 2002. The Decatur Foundry shipped over 330,000 ductile-iron engine-mount brackets to Toyota's plant in Georgetown, Kentucky, with a zero PPM (parts per million) rejection rate and 100-percent on-time delivery.
