MHE2 MOTORSPORTS SUPPORTS MILITARY FAMILIES WITH UNIQUE PROGRAM
FRANKLIN, Tenn., April 2, 2003 – MHE2 Motorsports proudly announces its partnership with 103 WKDF, the leading country music station in Middle Tennessee, in supporting the United States’ military through Operation: Home Front. Driver Bill Christie will carry the Operation: Home Front markings on the MHE2 Motorsports’ SuperTruck Series Ford throughout the 2003 Nashville Fairgrounds’ Speedway season. The proceeds generated through donations, t-shirt sales and the auction of the hood from the #103 Operation: Home Front/ MHE2 Motorsports Ford F-150’s will go to support the Family Readiness Group (FRG) at Fort Campbell and Arnold Air Force Base. The FRG maintains constant ties with the families of soldiers fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan to offer aid and support during these difficult times of long, overseas deployment.
“We are excited to be affiliated with 103 WKDF and Operation: Home Front,” offered Mark Hyjek, owner of MHE2 Motorsports from the team’s Franklin race shop. ”This is just one of many ways 103 WKDF helps support our people, communities and our country. We, as a team, feel privileged to be able to help the families of the soldiers who are risking their lives for us back home. This is the least we can do.”
“It’s important that we all do what we can to show our support to our troops,” commented Shelbyville’s Christie. “The men and women of the armed forces are over their protecting our families. The least we can do is help their families until they get back home. I’m very proud and excited to be a part of Operation: Home Front with WKDF. This is a great way to do what I love and thank the troops for giving me a chance to do it.”
Franklin-area businessman Mark Hyjek founded MHE2 Motorsports in 2000. The team tasted its first success dominating the 2001 Baby Grand Stock Car Association (BGSCA) road course championship at Nashville Superspeedway. In 2002, MHE2 stepped-up to the NASCAR Weekly Racing SuperTruck Series at Fairgrounds Speedway, Nashville. The effort, with Christie behind the wheel and Hyjek as team manager, again impressed all by winning a race, finishing in the top-10 of the season-long points championship and earning the series’ “Most Improved Team” Award. MHE2 Motorsports is currently working to finalize support to compete in selected 2003 races and the full 2004 season of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. MHE2 has a long history of giving back to the community beyond Operation: Home Front including partnership with the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and other conservation groups.
