LG.Philips LCD Demonstrates Latest TFT-LCD Advancements at EDEX 2003
Company Showcases Full Line-up of TFT-LCDs for TV and Automotive Entertainment Applications
SEOUL, South Korea, April 2 -- LG.Philips LCD Co., Ltd., a leading innovator in thin-film-transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, will showcase its broad portfolio of TFT-LCD products for LCD TVs, desktop PC monitors, notebook PCs and other applications during EDEX 2003 to be held April 9-11 in Tokyo, Japan.
LG.Philips LCD's CEO, Bon Joon Koo, will deliver the keynote address on "The Future Strategy for the LCD Industry," at SEMI FPD Expo Japan 2003 and Electronic Display Forum 2003 (EDF 2003), to be held in conjunction with the exposition of EDEX 2003. Koo's presentation will focus on what it will take for TFT-LCDs manufacturers to remain competitive in the burgeoning TFT-LCD industry. In addition, David Choi, vice president of product marketing, for LG.Philips LCD will be presenting on, "The Future Trends in Large TFT-LCD Technology," and Eddie Yeo, LG.Philips LCD's, vice president and head of monitor/TV product development, will speak on the "Required Characteristics of LCD Materials for TV applications."

These displays also boast a wide-viewing angle of 120 degrees (left/right) and 90 degrees (up/down) -- enabled by using wide-angle polarizer film and have a wide temperature range tolerance (suitable for automotive applications) of -30 to 85 degrees Celsius (operating), and -40 to 90 degrees Celsius (storage).
