Toyota and Lexus Sales Set March Records in Mid-West

DETROIT, April 1 -- Toyota and Lexus sales in the Mid-West established records for the month of March.

Toyota car and truck sales in the Cincinnati, Chicago and Kansas City regions totaled 23,624 vehicles. The three regions have 304 Toyota dealers in 13 Mid-Western states.

Lexus sales in the Lexus Central Area also set a new March record, with 3,546 sales reported. The Lexus Central Area has 44 Lexus dealers in 11 Mid- Western states.

Nationally, combined Toyota and Lexus sales in March were 165,081, an increase of 9.2 percent over March 2002 and a record for March and also the third-best sales month in the history of the company.
