American Suzuki Posts Highest Sales Since 1987

Monthly Sales Notch 22-Percent Gain Over March 2002

BREA, Calif., April 1 -- American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) posts its best March in sixteen years, and a 22-percent increase over March 2002, with sales totaling 6,601 vehicles for the month. ASMC small car sales increased 151 percent over the same month last year.

"Sales are at an all-time high in March as more value-seeking consumers discover the Aerio sedan and SX," said Rick Suzuki, president of ASMC. This increasingly strong response to the Aerio, introduced in March 2002, continues to dramatically impact our total sales -- and has established the Aerio as one of Suzuki's top-selling models alongside the XL-7."

The XL-7 posted 2,466 sales, while the Aerio sedan and SX marked 2,775 sales for the month. The Grand Vitara notched 865 sales for the period and the Vitara posted 472 units sold for the month.
