Modine Awarded Business on the New BMW X3 Sport Utility Vehicle

    RACINE, Wis.--April 1, 2003--Modine Manufacturing Company announced today that it will supply the engine-cooling module for the new BMW X3 sport utility vehicle, which is planned to be launched in the market around turn of this year. This program will be an incremental business gain for Modine, but the details of the agreement were not disclosed.
    Just-in-time (JIT) shipments to BMW from Modine's Wackersdorf, Germany facility will begin later this year. The engine-cooling module consists of the following components from several of Modine's facilities: the radiators and charge air coolers from Pliezhausen, Germany, the oil coolers from Uden, Netherlands, and the condensers from Berndorf, Austria.
    Commenting on the significance of the new business, Klaus Feldmann, Group Vice President and Managing Director of Modine Europe said, "We have been a partner of BMW's for nearly 25 years and our companies continue to work well together, which is shown by the other BMW platforms for which we provide products." Those programs include - engine-cooling modules for the 3-series and the new Z4 roadster, and the condensers for the X5. Klaus Feldmann added, "We will continue to utilize our expertise in thermal management and our experience in engine cooling to provide BMW with a superior mix of products."
