Honda Denies Threat To Withdraw From Car Production In UK
TOKYO April 1, 2003; Dow Jones reported that Honda Motor Co. isn't considering withdrawing from car production in the U.K., the second-largest Japanese carmaker said Tuesday.
Honda denied a report by the Times of the U.K. that the carmaker warned workers at its plant in Swindon that it could pull the plug on its U.K. operations.
The newspaper reported that Honda said performance needs to improve and that the plant couldn't rely on its Japanese partner indefinitely.
