TROY, Mich., March 31 -- Syntel , a global applications outsourcing and e-Business firm, announced today that employee Shivani Maheshwari has been awarded the prestigious Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) annual award for outstanding contribution to Microsoft .NET technology.

The Microsoft MVP Award is given in recognition of the recipient's expertise, spirit of community, and willingness to help their peers by providing reliable and accurate answers to technical questions about Microsoft products and technologies.

Shivani Maheshwari, a Syntel Senior Analyst working in banking technology at Syntel's Global Development Center in Mumbai, India, is a specialist in Microsoft .NET technology and is co-authoring two books on the subject. "It is great to see Shivani receive this wonderful recognition after all of the tireless effort she has put forth," said Ken Kenjale, Syntel Chief Technology Officer. "Shivani represents the attributes we expect in all of our global employees: technology vision, diligence, persistence, and intelligence. We're very proud of her."

About Microsoft MVP Program

The MVP Program started eight years ago as a way for Microsoft to recognize and thank outstanding community members for providing accurate answers to technical questions about Microsoft products. Since then, the MVP community has grown steadily. Currently, the program has grown to nearly 800 members, with MVPs in over 40 countries. Microsoft Asia MVPs are professionals who voluntarily offer their expertise to enhance the online experience and technical skills of others in the MSDN Online Developer Forums. MVPs earn their status by being nominated by peers and Microsoft Managers who see their consistent and accurate technical answers posted in the forums. The volunteer spirit of the MVPs and their positive online contribution helps create strong communities.
