City of Pontiac Police First Response Vehicle Unveiled Monday, March 31
While our armed forces are aboard, General Motors and Pontiac Police have joined forces to protect the community here at home. General Motors Pre- Production Operations dedicates the City of Pontiac Police Command Vehicle recognized as the First Responder on Monday, March 31, 2003 at 9:00 a.m. The dedication and presentation will take place at the GM Pontiac Validation Center located at 200 South Blvd at N. Woodward in Pontiac. The program will take place in the Presentation Room.
Built with finest and best state-of-art technology and communication capabilities, the First Response Vehicle is to serve as a command post in critical incidents or natural disasters. The Pontiac Police Department will have the ability to relocate resources and retain functions outside of the department headquarters to ensure hometown security and maintain public safety and communications.
Information and background will be shared by Pontiac Mayor Willie Payne, Pontiac Police Department, General Motors and UAW representatives beginning at 9:00 a.m. and followed by the presentation of the actual vehicle.
Note: Use South Blvd gate entrance near Woodward and allow time for sign in and clearance.
