California Manufacturing Technology Center Presents Lean Manufacturing 101 Workshop with Live Simulation in San Diego
LOS ANGELES--March 27, 2003--For one day only, the California Manufacturing Technology Center (CMTC) presents a workshop that will help attendees to take advantage of $2 million in training funds set aside to assist companies! Participants will learn about training funds that are available to help offset the cost of training employees, while promoting the critical skills needed to stay ahead in business. The workshop will focus on the principles of Lean manufacturing through a mix of class and live hands-on simulation. This workshop will be held Tuesday, April 22, 2003, at the Hilton San Diego Mission Valley, 901 Camino Del Rio South, San Diego, CA, 92108.Bob Rosinski will be presenting at the workshop. Rosinski is Center Director for San Diego's CMTC center and has over 20 years of experience in manufacturing. He has assisted both domestic and international clients in establishing a Lean vision and developing and implementing Lean strategies. Participants will have an opportunity to learn, experience, and ask questions about Lean manufacturing principles. This workshop will also teach companies how to tap into funds set aside specifically to help train employees.
Sponsored by CMTC, this workshop will focus on the eight wastes in manufacturing and how to apply various principles such as standardized work, visual signals, batch size reduction, and pull systems that eliminate these wastes. Not only will this workshop uncover ways to enhance productivity, but it will also demonstrate necessary tools to improve competitiveness in an ever-changing marketplace.
The workshop, which will run from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., is designed for business owners, presidents, controllers, plant managers, anyone responsible for cost management or the manufacturing process, as well as anyone in the organization who can benefit and apply concepts to their areas of responsibility.
