National Car Rental Serves the Need for Speed -- in Customer Service; Two New Initiatives Promote Speed, Convenience and Choice of Vehicle

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.--March 27, 2003--National Car Rental's Emerald Club has just gotten a whole lot greener.
The frequent-renter program that allows National customers to bypass the counter and head straight for Emerald Aisle(R), where they select from an assortment of cars, has been expanded to include any class of car. Emerald Reserve Service, an enhanced offering that builds on the premium positioning of the Emerald Club, allows members to reserve any car class excluding an intermediate. Bypassing the counter, they will go directly to the row of the car class they've reserved, where they will choose any car and proceed to the exit booth. Emerald Reserve members may reserve a car through travel agents, nationalcar.com and the Emerald Club reservation number.
Emerald Reserve is available at more than 50 major airport locations in the United States and Canada. http://www.nationalcar.com/reserve features a list of locations.
Emerald Club members with intermediate car reservations will continue to receive Emerald Aisle(R) Service. When they arrive at the location, they will bypass the counter, choose any car from the Aisle and proceed to the exit booth. Members may still find vehicles on the Aisle that are larger than intermediate (including full-size), but should they need to guarantee a specific car class they will simply use Emerald Reserve Service.
In another move that democratizes the benefits of speed, convenience and choice, National Car Rental also announced today the launch of an initiative that opens an express lane for all customers, from first-time users to seasoned renters.
QuickRent(R), found only at nationalcar.com, http://www.nationalcar.com, is a unique online service that allows customers to complete and receive an executed rental agreement over the Internet. The service enables customers to rent cars from all classes; the vehicle, coverage and rental agreement are all signed electronically through National's website. When they arrive at a National location, QuickRent(R) customers bypass the counter and proceed directly to the row of the car class they've reserved, choose any car and proceed to the exit booth, where they present the agent with a hangtag, their driver's license and the credit card they used to rent the car.
QuickRent(R), unique to National Car Rental, will be available at 50 major airport locations across the United States. An online demo resides at nationalcar.com.
"QuickRent(R) is distinctive in that it allows customers to get a fully executed rental agreement online," said Travis Tanner, Executive Vice President of ANC Rental Corporation, parent company of National Car Rental. "It does not require customers to be frequent renters to enjoy express service."
ANC Rental Corporation, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, is one of the world's largest car rental companies with annual revenue of approximately $2.4 billion in 2002. ANC Rental Corporation, the parent company of Alamo and National, has more than 3,000 locations in 77 countries. Its more than 15,000 global associates serve customers worldwide with an average daily fleet of more than 275,000 automobiles.
