AAA Waives Fees for Airline Rescheduling
MINNEAPOLIS, March 26 -- AAA Minnesota/Iowa announces it will waive exchange-transaction fees for customers who want to change air travel plans booked through AAA Travel, providing the air carrier on which the trip was booked is waiving its exchange-transaction fees.
Because of concern about possible problems related to the war in Iraq and/or possible terrorist activities, some travelers may be reluctant to follow through on air trips previously planned. If a person wants to change a scheduled trip to a later date, some airlines are waiving the service fee they would normally charge for issuing a new ticket. For each carrier that offers the no-fee service, AAA Minnesota/Iowa Travel will match that policy by waiving the service fee AAA would normally charge for the processing involved in rescheduling the trip.
This change will not affect the service fee that AAA Minnesota/Iowa Travel, like other travel agencies, charges for making a new airline reservation. Travel agencies began charging service fees when airlines eliminated commissions to travel agents.
AAA offers automotive, travel, insurance and financial services to more than 45 million members in the United States and Canada. AAA Minnesota/Iowa is part of The Auto Club Group, which has 4.1 million members in eight Midwest states.
