Autoline Detroit Broadcasts Its 250th Show
DETROIT, March 26 -- Autoline Detroit, the auto industry's only weekly television news program in North America, celebrates its 250th program this month.
The show's March 30 broadcast marks the Autoline Detroit's seventh season covering all aspects of the automotive industry. The program has aired on WTVS, Channel 56 - Detroit, a Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) station, since its first show on September 21, 1997.
John McElroy, veteran industry analyst, automotive journalist and host of "Autoline Detroit," will be joined on the 250th anniversary broadcast by special guest Pierre Gagnon, president and CEO, Mitsubishi Motors of America, Inc.
With this milestone program, Autoline Detroit also gets a new look. The show adds a variety of new elements, including new graphics, music and "Autoline Detroit" logo, as well as a new set, complete with industry backdrops featuring an automotive theme. The all-new production elements were conceived and designed by Blue Sky Productions.
In its seventh season, Autoline Detroit continues to be a key resource for the automotive industry. The show's guest list is literally a "who's who" of the auto business including: Richard Wagoner, CEO, General Motors; Dieter Zetsche, president, Chrysler Group; Gerd Klauss, president & CEO, Volkswagen of America, and J.T. Battenberg III, chairman, CEO and president, Delphi, among others.
Upcoming guests for Autoline Detroit's seventh season include: Kurt Ritter, general manager, Buick and Pontiac-GMC divisions, General Motors; Jim O'Connor, vice president, Ford Motor Company, and Denny Clements, group vice president & president, Lexus.
The show also features top auto journalists from both national and local publications, such as: The Wall Street Journal, Automotive News, The New York Times, Road & Track magazine, the Detroit Free Press, Detroit News and Oakland Press.
