Motor Parts Federal Credit Union Expands Member Locations Through Partnership With Credit Union Family Service Centers

AUBURN HILLS, Mich., March 26 -- As part of its commitment to enhance convenience for its members, Motor Parts Federal Credit Union (MPFCU) announced today that it has partnered with Credit Union Family Service Centers to provide customers with 21 additional branch locations in Michigan and more than 900 others nationwide, beginning April 1, 2003.

Credit Union Family Service Centers in Michigan are located in Ann Arbor, Canton, Detroit (two locations), Garden City, Grandville, Lansing, Livonia, Madison Heights, Novi, Portage, Redford, Riverview, Rochester Hills, St. Clair Shores, Southfield, Sterling Heights, Taylor, Vandercook Lake, Walker and Waterford.

"Joining the Credit Union Family Service Centers underscores Motor Parts Federal Credit Union's commitment to exceeding our members' expectations," said Don Major, president and CEO of MPFCU. "These service centers provide our members added convenience in a larger geographic region."

Credit Union Family Service Centers are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Automated teller machines (ATMs) are available 24 hours a day. For locations, call (800) 800-9700 or visit www.scc-sc24.org .

Credit Union Family Service Centers, which are branches that are shared with other participating credit unions, can conduct many of the same transactions and provide similar services as an MPFCU branch -- from making withdrawals, deposits, transfers and loan payments to purchasing money orders, travelers checks, theme park tickets and Entertainment books.

According to Major, some transactions and services must be addressed at an MPFCU branch, including transaction histories, account questions, current loan and savings rates, loan services, direct deposit and payroll deductions.

Service Centers Corporation (SCC) opened the first shared branch in the nation, known as Credit Union Family Service Centers, in 1975. SCC is a subsidiary of CO-OP Network and operates as one organization with two lines of business: SCC shared branching and electronic funds transfer (EFT). CO-OP Network provides an array of EFT services, has more than 16,000 surcharge-free ATMs across the United States and Canada and boasts 1,165 member credit unions with 12 million cardholders and a monthly volume of nearly 60 million transactions.

Headquartered in Auburn Hills, Mich., MPFCU is a member-owned, not-for- profit organization that was founded in 1951 by employees from Chrysler Corp.'s Center Line, Mich. parts division. MPFCU has branches in Auburn Hills, Center Line and Detroit, Mich., and Perrysburg, Ohio.

MPFCU offers its more than 15,000 members financial products and services ranging from share certificates to VISA credit cards and from online banking to loan programs. Assets for 2002 were $116 million. For more information, visit www.mpfcu.org .
