KleenAir's SAE Show in Detroit and the Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, U.K., a Great Success
IRVINE, Calif.--March 25, 2003--KleenAir Systems Inc. (OTC BB:KAIR), had a major success with its exhibit at the recent Annual Convention of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) in Detroit. On display at the Ford booth were ServoTech's Ford licensed SOBRIS HC and urea injection systems including the DINEX DPF Particulate Filter and KleenAir's NOxMaster(R) SCR/DOC catalysts.
KleenAir's participation in the Ford exhibit attracted much attention from major automotive OEMs. While underlining Ford's commitment to advanced emission reduction technology, particularly Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR), the SAE was an opportunity for KleenAir to join the ranks of commercially available exhaust system devices. The SCR technology significantly reduces nitrogen oxides and filter technology significantly reduces particulates. KleenAir also demonstrated Hydro Carbon Injection technology that facilitates the efficient operation of particulate traps.
The exhibit was inspected by the President and Vice-President of Ford North America, a further indication of their interest in achieving future NOx and Particulate reduction targets.
The SAE show was followed up by the annual Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, U.K., from March 18 through 20, where KleenAir's European Systems Integrator, DINEX received significant interest in its DPF particulate filter and KleenAir's NOxMaster(R) SCR/DOC catalysts.
A number of orders were taken for implementation on buses both in The United Kingdom and in Denmark. The market is recognizing the need to integrate both particulate and NOx reduction systems for optimum emission reductions.
"We believe that marrying the best of particulate reduction using the DINEX DPF filter with NOx reduction technology using KleenAir's SCR systems, will give us a significant lead in European heavy-duty retrofit markets," said Lars Larsen, Business Development Manager for DINEX A/S. KleenAir has now started first deliveries of the initial six figure stocking order for DINEX.
Having successfully completed the EST funded London Taxi SCR program, KleenAir is in discussion with the Energy Savings Trust, the Department for Transport, the Public Carriage Office, and the Greater London Authority with regard to the finalizing of NOx and particulate emission standards for London Taxis. It is expected that final standards and subsidy programs will be published by the end of April 2003. KleenAir expects to be able to offer the best and most cost-effective means of achieving any approved new NOx emission standard.
