Canadian Tire Financial Services Selects Mosaic Software's Postilion for EFT Transaction Switching

Canada's Most-Shopped Retailer to Install Advanced Transaction Processing Platform

TORONTO and DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla., March 25 -- Canadian Tire Financial Services (CTFS) and Mosaic Software, the global transaction software provider, announced today that Mosaic's Postilion EFT software will be installed to handle authorization switching and routing for transactions initiated throughout Canadian Tire's inter-related network of businesses.

Canadian Tire, with $7.2 billion in annual retail sales, is Canada's most- shopped retailer with more than 1,000 stores and gas bars across the country. All credit and debit card transactions performed at Canadian Tire Retail, Canadian Tire Petroleum, PartSource, Mark's Work Wearhouse and Canadian Tire Financial Services will be directed to a Postilion system for routing to the appropriate end point for authorization. In addition to providing the interfaces to numerous authorization hosts the Postilion system will manage the entire transaction in a secure environment to ensure transaction integrity and accuracy.

The Postilion system will provide the integrated functionality and support required to meet Canadian Tire's high standard of service for our customers," says Michel Petrucci, vice-president of Information Technology Products and Services. "Meeting customer needs and providing them with efficient and accurate service is a cornerstone for our organization and that Postilion system supports our customer strategy."

"We look forward to working with Canadian Tire Financial Services and are extremely proud that Mosaic Software was selected for this project," stated Johann Dreyer, CEO of Mosaic. "The opportunity to be an integral part of the payments solution for Canada's most well-known and respected retail institution is quite an honor."

Furthermore, the Postilion software's advanced architecture, operating on a Windows 2000 platform, provides CTFS the flexibility to easily add new functionality as required. The solution will be running on a Stratus(R) ftServer(R) system providing the fault-tolerant, continuous-availability platform necessary in this mission critical retail EFT environment. Vancouver, BC based INETCO Systems is providing the INETCO Datapac solution which enables Mosaic's Postilion transaction switch to communicate with both the CTFS retail POS terminals as well as external hosts and transaction networks.
