Montgomery Prepared for Bristol
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BRISTOL, TN (March 19, 2003) - NASCAR Busch driver Chase Montgomery is preparing himself for the excitement, frustration and fierce competition that lays ahead at this weekend's Channellock 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway.
Montgomery and the #27 TrimSpa/Brewco/Alice Cooper/Montgomery Racing didn't attend the test days earlier this season, making Friday's 9:00 AM practice the 19-year-old rookie's first time in "the bull ring".
"I am looking forward to that first practice," Montgomery said. "I've seen a lot of exciting races at this place and I am ready to be a part of the action. With 43 cars on a half-mile track, you know there's going to be a lot of excitement."
Short track racing is nothing new to Montgomery, as he got his start on one of the most competitive short tracks in the country, Nashville Speedway USA. He also gained valuable half-mile experience in the ARCA RE/MAX Series, running on tracks like Salem, Winchester and South Boston.
"I have raced on several short tracks, but nothing like this place," Montgomery said. "No matter how much short track experience you have, I don't think anything can fully prepare you for Bristol."
The Chanellock 250 will broadcast live on FX Networks and the Performance Racing Network (PRN) beginning at 12:30 PM ET on Saturday.
