AAA Offers Five Percent Gas Rebate
BELLEVUE, Wash., March 19 -- AAA is working to help families counteract the effects of record high gas prices on their family budgets by offering a five percent rebate on gasoline and diesel purchases made with the AAA Visa(R) credit card.
"With the present uncertainty about the future of gas prices we feel this is a valuable way to help families save on this expense," said Ed Davids, vice president, Marketing, AAA Washington/Inland.
Beginning immediately, all AAA credit card holders will receive a five percent rebate when they use their AAA credit card issued by MBNA America Bank to purchase fuel at any automated fuel pump worldwide. Rebates will appear as a credit on the card holder's monthly statement, with a maximum rebate of $3 per day. Users must purchase the gas or diesel by swiping the AAA credit card at the pump.
In Washington, gas prices are averaging $1.86 per gallon for regular unleaded, up 23 cents from last month and 60 cents from the same time last year. The five percent rebate will save members 9.3 cents per gallon at this price.
"If we can do something to help our members keep a little more money in their pockets, you can be sure we will," said Davids. "And this gas rebate program does just that."
