Top AMA Superbike Factory Riders Test New Portions
of Circuit at Infineon Raceway
MEDIA INVITED TO TEST SESSION ON THURSDAY, MARCH 20
WHAT: Top riders from the AMA Chevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Championship Series will come to Infineon Raceway on Thursday, March 20, to test the 12-turn, 2.2-mile circuit in preparation for the AMA Supercuts Superbike Challenge, presented by Honda of Milpitas, May 2-4.
RIDERS: Riders from factory teams Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha will be on hand. Riders include Eric Bostrom (Kawasaki), 1998 Superbike champion Ben Bostrom (Honda) and Jamie Hacking (Yamaha).
WHEN: Thursday, March 20, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
MEDIA: A press briefing will take place at noon in the Media Center with some of the riders. The pits will be open all day for photographers and television crews.
WHAT¢S NEW: This will mark the first ¯ and only ¯ opportunity for AMA factory riders to test three new portions of track before the event in May. Raceway officials, with the input of AMA riders Eric and Ben Bostrom, Daytona 200 winner Miguel Duhamel (Honda) and Aaron Yates (Suzuki), have modified Turns 1, 8-10 and 11 in an attempt to address rider concerns. Ron Barrick, AMA Road Race Manager, was also involved in the process.
