SOUTHFIELD, Mich., March 13 -- Rick Summerville, national program group sales manager, Federal-Mogul, was named "Man of the Year" by the Automotive Parts Association (APA), a member-owned cooperative of automotive parts warehouse distributors.

"This is the first time we have given this award," said Dan Freeman, president and chief executive officer, APA. "We felt we needed to honor and show our appreciation for Rick's tireless efforts in creating seamless communication between APA headquarters and Federal-Mogul."

The Man of the Year Award was given March 1 at APA's 23rd annual Shareholder and Manufacturers Conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I was proud to stand in front of the hundreds of representatives from numerous manufacturing companies and members of APA and receive this award," Summerville said, who is based in Crystal Lake, Illinois. "Receiving recognition like this shows Federal-Mogul people are committed to exceeding customer expectations in all our efforts, and it really is an honor."

APA is a group of 120 warehouse distributors in North America including Bestbuy, Canada; IWI, Dubuque, Iowa; and United Syatt, California.
