Formula Ford 2000 Zetec Championship Test Notes from Sebring
#2
Tuesday Test Notes at Sebring
- The second day of pre-event testing began under hot and humid conditions.
- No. 6 McDonough took part in the first session, after repairing the damage
to his car in Monday testing overnight.
- No. 37 Dona elected not to take part in Tuesday's test, after running in
all four sessions on Monday.
- No. 5 Burkett, No. 11 Rubenzer, No. 33 Fanelli and No. 97 Hodges
participated in Tuesday's test, having missed Monday's test.
- In the first of three sessions, several drivers reported less grip than
Monday. It is believed this is due to the increase in temperature and more
oil and grease from the numerous series taking to the track.
- The first session was briefly halted when No. 97 spun and was unable to
restart.
- No. 44 Smith did not participate in Tuesday testing, as the team worked on
fixing a mechanical problem.
- The second session of the day once again saw an increase in temperature,
slowing the cars.
- Late in the session No. 97 spun and stalled halting the session.
- Late in the day the final pre-event test session was run. With the reduced
temperatures the Zetec Championship cars posted the fastest times of the
day.
- Several cars went off course during the second of testing, though no major
damage was reported.
- The season officially begins Wednesday at 8:00 a.m., with a 30-minute
practice session.
