Toyota Reports Mexico Sales for February

MEXICO CITY, March 11 -- Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico (TMEX) reported total January sales of 419 through its six dealerships established in three major cities. Toyota sales have totaled 4,717 units since Toyota began selling cars in Mexico in April 2002.

"Though our sales numbers may seem modest, February sales exceeded our projections by five percent," said Jose Luis Sanchez Andion, general director at Toyota Motor Sales de Mexico. "Toyota will continue to strengthen its share of the Mexican market as our products gradually gain recognition as leaders in quality, dependability, and value in their respective vehicle segments."

The Corolla compact sedan was the January sales leader for Toyota with 324 total sales. The Camry mid-size sedan chipped in with 95 units sold.
