Barrett-Jackson to Auction Bass Boat Featuring Guy Harvey Custom Graphics, Signed by 43 NASCAR Drivers at Palm Beach Classic Car Auction
Proceeds to Benefit Darrell Gwynn Foundation, Guy Harvey Research Institute
PALM BEACH, Fla., March 11 -- Barrett-Jackson Auction Company LLC today announced it will auction a one-of-kind Nitro CDC 911 bass boat, with custom graphics by renowned marine artist and conservationist Guy Harvey and personally signed by 43 NASCAR drivers, at its inaugural Palm Beach Classic Car Auction, April 10-13 in West Palm Beach, Fla. All proceeds from the sale of the boat will benefit the Darrell Gwynn Foundation to cure spinal cord injuries and also the Guy Harvey Research Institute.
The 20-foot bass-fishing boat, a donation to The Gwynn Foundation from Bass Pro Shops, features Guy Harvey's signature artwork. In addition, the boat contains the autographs of 43 NASCAR drivers, including Richard Petty, Darrell Waltrip, Jeff Gordon and reigning Winston Cup champion Tony Stewart, as well as drivers who have won more than a combined 670 races and 21 Winston Cup championships. The drivers, 10 of whom are included in NASCAR's 50-Greatest Drivers list, signed the boat during the June 2002 Pepsi 400 race in Daytona Beach, Fla.

The Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach Classic Car Auction, produced in association with Manheim Auto Auctions, will feature approximately 400 vintage, classic, European sports and America muscle cars along with a wide selection of street rods and competition cars. The auction, which will also include an expo area of automotive and lifestyle exhibits, is set for April 10 through 13, with the preview day and opening night reception for auction participants taking place on Thursday, April 10.

The Darrell Gwynn Foundation is committed to prevent, provide for and ultimately cure spinal cord injuries and other debilitating illnesses through the funding of various research projects and providing necessary equipment of special services. Today, he presides over the Darrell Gwynn Racing Team, which fields the New York Yankees/Berryman Products sponsored Top Fuel dragster. The team enjoys associate sponsorship from Dyn-O-Mat, MBNA, MAC Tools and Winnebago Industries. Cory McClenathan, the winningest active Top Fuel driver on the NHRA Powerade Tour, drives the team's 6,000 horsepower, 330 mile-per-hour machine.
