AutoTradeCenter and Chrome Partner for Accurate Online Vehicle Descriptions

PORTLAND, Ore.--March 10, 2003--Chrome Systems Corporation, provider of automotive data, configuration technology and commerce solutions and AutoTradeCenter (ATC), a leading Internet-based business-to-business automotive remarketing company, announced today that ATC will use Chrome's data to bring more detailed vehicle descriptions to their automotive auctions.
The agreement covers both the vehicles that will be listed on Open Auction, ATC's auction site for dealers, as well as other ATC auction applications. Through the agreement, when a dealer enters a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) into the auction form, the ATC system will decipher and list a full description of the vehicle using Chrome's complete and accurate content.
Better descriptions and more accurate content will enable dealers to more fully describe each vehicle's features, leading to better leads and higher sales. For instance, if a customer is looking for a certain trim color, the customer is likely to ignore a listing that does not include this information in its description. By combining Chrome's VIN information and vehicle content with ATC's inventory system, dealers can display every feature available, thereby keeping sales they may have lost due to limited listings.
"Dealers finally have a way to share every detail about a vehicle with their online audience. More vehicle detail leads to better informed customers and higher sales percentages at online auctions," said Dave Mingle, President and COO, Chrome Systems.
ATC will also use the data to help power their many private label sites, including Isuzu, Honda, Volkswagen, Suzuki and Audi, among others.
"We are committed to providing our clients with every tool available to facilitate vehicle sales. By utilizing Chrome Systems' standard in data content, sellers have the opportunity of listing a more comprehensive description of vehicle inventory, thereby enabling buyers to bid with confidence on vehicles matching their specific criteria," comments Andrew Iorgulescu, Vice President of Business Development for AutoTradeCenter.
