Daimler/Chrysler Mexico Approves IMPCO Premier LPG Conversion System for Dodge Ram-2500
CERRITOS, Calif., March 10 -- IMPCO TECHNOLOGIES, INC. a NASDAQ Company announced today that Daimler/Chrysler Mexico has approved IMPCO's Premier system for use in the Dodge Ram 2500 4.7L. The IMPCO Premier conversion system is an OEM-grade fuel delivery, fuel storage and electronic control package that allow vehicles to run and operate on clean-burning, low cost gaseous fuels.
Brad Garner, General Manager of IMPCO said, "The IMPCO Premier program is a value-added offering under which our Mexico division is selling to automotive OEMS throughout Mexico. From the vehicle-buyer's perspective they see value in the seamless purchase of their commercial vehicles and taxis from the dealer already integrated with propane, thus eliminating the need for later conversion. The additional cost of the conversion is financed with the purchase." The total vehicle population in Mexico is 10 million vehicles with 4.5 million being commercial vehicles. The Mexican automotive industry sold approximately 150,000 new commercial vehicles in 2002; 70% are converted to operate on LPG. Prices for the Premier system range from $1,500 to $2,500.
