Jacobs' Subsidiary Announces Contract Renewals at Three Ford Test Complexes
SOUTHFIELD, Mich.--March 5, 2003--Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. announced today that a subsidiary company received contract funding renewals from Ford Motor Company at three automotive operations sites in Michigan.Officials did not disclose the contract values.
The first renewal is for the Driveability Test Facility (DTF) operating site in Allen Park, Mich. Jacobs' responsibilities include complete test asset management for a test complex providing climatic, altitude, aerodynamic, acoustic, and powertrain test capability to Ford and other vehicle, system, and component manufacturers. Jacobs provided design, build, and road-to-laboratory correlation for the DTF prior to assuming operational responsibility.
The second renewal is for the Dearborn Proving Ground (DPG) operating site in Dearborn, Mich. Jacobs' responsibilities include complete test asset management for the DPG's climatic wind tunnels and test rooms.
The third renewal is for calibration/metrology services at Ford's proving ground in Romeo, Mich. Jacobs' responsibilities include providing on-site instrumentation maintenance and calibration support services for Ford's Michigan Proving Grounds.
In making the announcement, Jacobs President Craig Martin stated, "The facilities at each of these test complexes are critical to the development of Ford automobiles.
