Universal Ice Blast Receives Purchase Order From Ford Motor Company

Ford Orders Ice Blast's New Rust Inhibitor System

KIRKLAND, Wash., Feb. 28 -- Universal Ice Blast, Inc. (BULLETIN BOARD: UIBI) , announced today that it has received a purchase order from Ford Motor Company for an automated rust inhibitor spray station, a new product from UIBI.

This follows last year's installation of Universal Ice Blast's Automatic Ice Blast Gear Cleaning Systems, funded jointly by Ford Motor Company's Factory of the Future Group, at Ford's Sharonville Transmission Plant in Ohio.

Rory Clarke, Chairman and CEO of UIBI noted, "We are pleased that Ford continues to show interest in our products, even in this period of reduced capital expenditures. We continue to develop products and ancillary equipment to augment our patented ice blast cleaning systems."

Universal Ice Blast markets a range of products based on its patented ice blast cleaning process and equipment to Ford, General Motors, Toyota and other automotive manufacturers, as well as their suppliers. "We estimate that sales from our existing and future products to the world automotive segment could total up to $1.4 billion over the next seven to 10 years," noted Clarke. Strong demand for the Company's ice blast cleaning technology is projected based on the increasingly competitive manufacturing environment in which continuous improvement and cost reduction has become the rule.

Universal Ice Blast, Inc. has a patented process known as the Ice Blast Technology. UIBI has positioned the technology into three billion-dollar markets: Precision Cleaning (automated production cleaning/de-burring): Industrial Cleaning (fixed systems parts cleaning, petro-chemical and pulp and paper): and Environmental Cleaning (lead paint and asbestos abatement off steel bridges and building structures). Since 1995 the company has actively engaged in developing its technology for these markets. Substantial testing and field-research with major clients within large markets has now brought the company to full commercialization of its products in these markets.
