Delphi Division Books More Than $334 Million in Brake Business In Month of January

TROY, Mich., Feb. 26 -- Delphi Corporation's Energy & Chassis Systems division announced today that, in January, it booked new business totaling more than $334 million to supply brake components to several customers in the United States and Asia Pacific region.

"Our extensive brake portfolio enables us to supply individual brake components or complete braking systems," said Guy C. Hachey, vice president, Delphi Corporation and president, Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems. "This breadth and flexibility of our brake portfolio offers an array of solutions that meets diverse customer needs."

Delphi has developed and supplied brake components and complete braking systems for more than 65 years. Delphi's technological advancements with respect to controlled braking systems technology can be traced directly to a strong commitment to algorithm engineering, simulation and activity analysis, and computer modeling. As a result, Delphi is uniquely qualified to bring complex algorithmic systems to mass production in the shortest possible time.

Delphi's portfolio of controlled braking technologies includes:

* Anti-lock brakes -- deliver optimal vehicle stability, steerability, and stopping distance.

* Traction control systems -- optimal balance of brakes and powertrain control to maximize traction in all conditions.

* Vehicle Stability Enhancement (TRAXXAR(TM)) -- Delphi's advanced vehicle stability enhancement system -- helps control vehicle over-steer and under-steer for optimal safety and performance. Delphi's latest TRAXXAR(TM) system features a new hydraulic modulator, which delivers reduced package size and mass combined with overall improvement in braking control. Individual wheel brake intervention helps decrease or prevent vehicle spins and excessive under-steer.

"It's exciting to work with current and prospective customers to determine their needs and be able to tailor specific applications that meet their unique requirements," said Daniel E. Warrell, brakes and modules business line executive, Delphi Energy & Chassis Systems. "Our brake portfolio gives us that much needed flexibility."
