Paul Lipkin Joins Tele Atlas North America as Director of Dynamic Traveler Content Product Development and Engineering

    MENLO PARK, Calif.--Feb. 26, 2003--Tele Atlas North America, Inc., the U.S. arm of Tele Atlas NV, a worldwide leading provider of digital maps, and premier provider of digital map databases and real-time traffic information for North America, today announced that Paul Lipkin has joined as director of dynamic traveler content (DTC) product development and engineering. Lipkin, who has more than 20 years of experience in systems development, deployment and management, will be responsible for leading Tele Atlas' DTC group, developing new traffic, weather and other dynamic content products, and overseeing engineering and operations.
    As research points to real-time traffic information and dynamic content as one of the most highly desired applications for navigation and telematics, Tele Atlas is committed to developing best-in-class dynamic content products. "Paul's strong background in systems and infrastructure combined with his expertise in navigation, telematics and GIS applications using digital map data will make him an invaluable asset as we grow and deploy dynamic content in North America," said George Fink, president and COO of Tele Atlas.     Lipkin joins Tele Atlas from Kivera where he was chief operating officer. While with Kivera, he was responsible for engineering, quality assurance, product management, finance, IT and customer support. He released four major versions of Kivera's product in 18 months and led the engineering team to dramatically improve the quality and performance of location based services (LBS) products.

    Previously, Lipkin was co-founder and vice president of engineering for iKnowMed, senior project manager with Medicus Systems, and director of industry systems for TRW Financial Systems.
