Don Roulett is Goodyear's New Global Aviation Tire Marketing Manager
AKRON, Ohio, Feb. 25 -- Don Roulett has joined The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company as global marketing manager for aviation tires, replacing Jim Pickering, who retired.
"Don's considerable experience in global aircraft development will be a considerable asset as we continue our penetration of this market, especially overseas," said Alex Dumm, general manager Goodyear's global aviation tires. Roulett reports to Dumm.
Roulett joins Goodyear after 13 years with Honeywell/Allied Signal Aircraft Landing Systems, where he was program/business manager for Boeing and Airbus OEM projects and deputy general director of a Honeywell joint venture within the Russian Federation. He worked for Goodyear Aerospace in Akron from 1979 to 1982 as a development engineer.
From 1982 to 1989, he was with the Westinghouse Plant Apparatus Division as a senior stress analyst on nuclear reactors for the U.S. Navy.
Roulette has bachelor's and master's degrees in mechanical engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Case Western Reserve University, respectively.
Pickering joined Goodyear in 1966 after obtaining bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration from Harvard University. After a move to Australia, where he worked in the retail stores group, he became president and managing director of Goodyear Panama, then went to Goodyear Mexico as manager of sales services.
He returned to the United States in 1978 as assistant manager of dealer development in 1981. He joined the commercial truck tire sales group in 1982, becoming manager of administration in 1987.
He joined the aviation tire group in 1994.
